Stand for Freedom is a national event where students stand at more than 500 different universities for 27 hours for the 27 million slaves around the world. We'll begin standing in the Grant Plaza at 6:00 a.m. on Friday and finish standing at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. We'll hold signs with facts about slavery and have laptops where students can sign a national petition being sent to President Obama and also discover their slavery footprint by visiting slaveryfootprint.org. By imputing information about their lifestyles students can learn how many slaves work for them around the world and receive help in reducing their number of slaves.
Setup at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, and take down will be done by 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
